Preparing for Sunday's Picnic on the Green

A discussion on historical aspects of Old Kilcullen will be part of next Sunday's annual Picnic on the Green there, writes Brian Byrne.

Among those taking part will be historian and author James Durney, and Dr Michael O'Connell who has long had an interest in the area.

Pictured last evening at a briefing in Fallons Snug for the participants are Michael O'Connell, Christy Howard, James Durney, Kevin Sheehan, Liam Walker, and Gerry O'Donoghue who will moderate the talk.

The event will be held in a tent at the Picnic, which starts at 3pm and will have the usual refreshments, live music, and games and entertainment for children. All welcome.
