Fairy Trail relaunch was magic

There was a full turnout of fairies and their families at this afternoon's relaunch of the Valley Fairy Trail, writes Brian Byrne, and the Weather Fairy was kind, only sprinkling a couple of very light showers of fairy rain on the event.
Following a short talk on the origins of the Valley Park by Noel Clare, and a welcome to everyone from KCA's Eoin Houlihan and Ann Cashman, the tape was cut by Alice and Sarah, grand-daughters of the late Jim Collins who was a major force in completing the park. Then all took a stroll through the Valley, sampling the attractions of face-painting and ice cream, and music through the afternoon, as well as the upgrades and additions to the fairy houses.
The upgrade was made possible by funding allocated by Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer and Cllr Fiona Mc Loughlin Healy, a grant from Kildare Credit Union, and a fundraiser event held in Fallons in 2022 by Paula Phelan and Michelle Reddy.
Apart from the selection here, all the Diary's photos from the afternoon can be seen here.
