Murphy Geospatial Cycle targets €30,000 for children's charity

The Murphy Geospatial Charity Cycle on Saturday next has a target of €30,000 to raise for the Children's Health Foundation, and is still open for riders to sign up to either a 50km or 100km cycle route to help raise the funds.
Participants can sign up using cash or card on the day for a 50km route at €40 or a 100km route at €50. Spectators are welcome, and donations from supporters will be appreciated.
The event is sponsored by Apache Pizza, Scats Bouncing Castles, The Irish Soda Company, No1 Fitness Kilcullen, and Jo's Absolute Nutrition and Beanery.
Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin Hospital is the national centre for a range of specialities including childhood cancers and blood disorders, cystic fibrosis, clinical genetics, and paediatric congenital heart and lung diseases.
Diarmuid Murphy, Director at Murphy Geospatial, says the company's values are built on an understanding that everyone has a family outside of the workplace and could be dealing with challenges such as childhood health problems. "This year's event is set to be our biggest yet and is kindly supported by our friends at Kilcullen Cycling Club, with support from TITAN Experience. We want as many people as possible to get involved."
Nessa O’Reilly, Head of Strategic Giving, Children’s Health Foundation, says each and every cyclist taking part is helping to give the sick children in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin the very best chance.
Murphy Geospatial is also celebrating its 40th birthday this year, making the Charity Cycle a really special one.
The company ran seven similar events up until 2019, and has raised over €90,000 for the Foundation to date. This is the first year the event will run since the pandemic.
Both cycling routes will start and finish in Kilcullen and the event has been designed with all abilities in mind, amateurs and professionals. Riders will be supported by a team of health and safety professionals and marshals.
Visit www.murphygs.com/CCHF2023 to find out more, sign up or donate. The 100km route will begin at 10am and the 50km route will begin at 10.15am. Please arrive at least 30 minutes beforehand.
