Looking Back: A dusty Kilcullen

This picture of 17 August 2001 shows 'dust-storm' conditions in Kilcullen due to site works by AWG Developments on what subsequently became Riverside Manor, writes Brian Byrne.
The issue was later sorted with the construction of a trucks wheel-wash system by the developer.
Some interesting details besides the dust — there was a summer flowers programme with tubs in front of the bank, the dual telephone kiosks at the bridge were the height of local communications tech at the time, and the two houses fronting onto the square were still there as it was before the building of Market Square apartments.
