Shirley is closing Secret Kloset

There's a lot of disappointment in Kilcullen today following yesterday's announcement that Shirley Kavanagh Hallion is closing her Secret Kloset ladies boutique on Hillcrest, writes Brian Byrne.
After eight years in business, Shirley cited increased costs as a main reason for her decision, which came after a long period of 'doing everything I can' to continue a viable business.
"From a small business point of view, my costs have simply far surpassed the ability to be able to go on," she said in an emotional video yesterday on the Secret Kloset Facebook page. "Small businesses are suffering, and all the things that have happened over the last while are devastating."
There have since been very many comments since expressing solidarity and sadness at the news, and on the Diary we are also very very sad to hear of the closure. "But I am very, very proud that I got eight years with the business," Shirley said.
The shop will remain open until the end of the month.
