Kilcullen in PKRF race winner's enclosure

The 32nd running of the 'Have the Conversation - Say YES to Organ Donation' annual Charity Race in aid of the Punchestown Kidney Research Fund last Saturday proved to be a Kilcullen home town result with local jockeys filling the first and second places.
Favourite Paul Bell, who has won two Kildare County Football Championship medals with Kilcullen, came in first on board Stuzzikini for Gordon Elliot. A fast-finishing Sinead Smullen achieved second place on Jessica Harrington's Jungle Cove while Triona Burbidge came in third on Diamondinthemud for Nigel Slevin.
The majority of the 33,000 people in the record-breaking crowd stayed on in the glorious sunshine to create an unbelievable atmosphere and cheer all the 25 amateur jockeys home.
Race organiser James Nolan from Kilcullen was delighted that all the jockeys came home safely and thanked all the owners and trainers who had kindly entered Horses in the Charity Race as well as the team at Punchestown for helping the PKRF in every possible way to make the Charity Race happen.
James hopes to raise over €50,000 from the day, to add to the €1.7 million raised in total in the more than three decades of the race, and thanked everyone who supported the Kilcullen charity PKRF in any way at all.
