KCA's Fairy Trail upgrade gets LPT funding

Kilcullen's Fairy Trail upgrade is the beneficiary of an LPT allocation approved for Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer at the Kildare-Newbridge MD meeting yesterday, writes Brian Byrne.

The €3,000 was nominated by the councillor to Kilcullen Community Action for the upgrade, which was agreed at the March meeting of KCA. The funds donated by Paula Phelan and Michelle Reddy from their Nollaig na mBan event in January are also being used for the work. The Fairy Trail was inaugurated in March 2019 as part of the Kilcullen 700 celebrations but now needs renewal.

A match-funding by the councillor of €5,000 to Kildare County Council Area Engineers Department for the  installation of two driver feedback speed signs in Brannockstown was also approved.

Other approved allocations of Cllr O'Dwyer's LPT funds included €4,000 towards a public lighting audit in Walshestown Estate, Newbridge, and €2,500 to Kildare County Council Parks Department to complete the natural play area in Linear Park Newbridge.
