Work starts on pedestrian crossing tomorrow

Works will commence tomorrow on the much-needed pedestrian crossing at the top of Kilcullen hill towards Naas, writes Brian Byrne.
The location will be near the pedestrian exit (inset) on the lane from Bishop Rogan Park that runs along at the back of the Tennis Club.
"This is good news indeed," says Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer, who has campaigned for a long time to get the crossing. "This will make it much safer for children and wheelchair users in particular, but everyone really, to be able to cross the street to access Burke’s Chemist, Centra and the other shops along this section of the town."
A bonus will be that the crossing will also have the effect of slowing traffic speeds coming into town before vehicles start down the hill.
