Work on crossing under way

Delayed a few days by last week's snow warnings, the work on the new pedestrian crossing at Hillcrest has got under way in earnest, writes Brian Byrne.

The Diary understands the crossing will be a 'table-top' construction, and will also include pedestrian-operated lights.

The work includes a widening of the footpath between the crossing and the Logstown junction.

Traffic is being managed by temporary traffic lights during the work, and delays can be expected.
