The Diary was asked to post this piece by Caroline Kelly Morgan on the unexpected death of Jeremy in Toronto, while his mother Louise Kelly was there on a visit with him. Messages of condolence to the family may be left on Caroline's Facebook page here

So on Sunday morning in Toronto our beautiful funny talented kind loving son grandson brother nephew cousin friend Jeremy Burke passed away suddenly in his sleep having just had a fantastic day and night out showing Louise and Rita the sights of the city he had made his home. He was in flying form and picture of health. He was teasing his mam and joking with nanny as he always would and was planning a trip home to Kilcullen in June. We would just like to thank the community in Kilcullen and surrounding areas for looking after the family esp daddy and all the calls and texts. Mam and Louise are doing the best they can and have the most magnificent support from the Irish community in Toronto. They are being guided through the repatriation process by the wonderful Kevin Bell Trust. As a family we are beyond broken, a little piece of us went with Jeremy when the news came.

Keep us in your prayers and when the final details are available they will be shared. We intend to give Jeremy the send off he deserves surrounded by the sounds and things that meant so much to him in his short life.

Rest in peace.
