Pure Mental next week in Riverbank

Two performances next week of Pure Mental, a stage show written and performed by Newbridge-based Keith Walsh, will give audiences in the Riverbank Arts Centre timely food for thought on mental health, self-development and self care, writes Brian Byrne.
The shows will take place on Friday and Saturday next, 13-14 January, as part of the First Fortnight Festival. A Q&A session after each performance will include a special guest.
Pure Mental was developed by Keith Walsh and co-writer and director Janet Moran during the pandemic. The show was first produced by Riverbank Arts Centre in 2021 with the support of the Arts Council, Creative Ireland and Kildare County Council, with additional support by Mermaid Arts Centre.
Keith Walsh is a radio and TV broadcaster and Janet Moran is an actor, playwright and director based in Dublin. First Fortnight is an arts-based mental health charity for raising awareness of mental health and challenging stigma.
Tickets for Pure Mental cost €15 and €12, available from the Riverbank Box Office either in person or by telephone on 045 448327 Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm (closed for lunch 2-2.30) and Saturday 10am-1pm. Tickets can also be booked 24/7 on www.riverbank.ie.
