GAA gets planning permission for development
Kilcullen GAA has been granted planning permission for its 'Field of Dreams' development project, writes Brian Byrne.
The development, which will be carried out on a phased basis, will include a second full-sized pitch and two pitches for Juveniles. A skills arena and new larger car park are also planned.
There will also be a public walk and cycleway around the perimeter of the enlarged club property. The project will be built on eight acres between the existing club and the Avondale estate, acquired from Kildare County Council in a land swap.
The initiative has been costed at just under a million euro and a number of funding activities are already in train. A loan will also be taken out from the national GAA organisation.
