Brat Brídes available free today

A reminder that Brat Brídes are available free today, the eve of St Brigid's Day, from Kilcullen Library (10.30am-1pm and 1.30-5pm) and also from Ger’s Fruit & Veg and Nolan’s Butcherswrites Brian Byrne.
The tradition has it that the brats, small pieces of cloth, left out in the garden tonight will be blessed by the saint and will ward off minor ailments for a year for all residents of the house, including animals.
The initiative is courtesy of Julie O'Donoghue and Mary Orford as part of Brigid 1500.
The list of local events so far organised for the month of February is:
1st February 9.30am: Feast Day Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart and St Brigid with hymns sung by pupils from Scoil Bhríde.
1st-28th February: Suas Knitting Group display in Nolan’s window.
