Lock Up and Light Up in the darker evenings

With the clock changed and darker evenings, the incidence of burglaries are likely to increase and the Garda are urging people to take precautions, writes Brian Byrne.

A few Simple steps can help protect your home.

•Lock all doors & windows

•Turn on some lights

•Use an alarm

•Don’t keep large amounts of cash

•Store keys away from windows/letter boxes
