Local farm walk for Climate Action Weekend

A reminder that a Farm Walk around the environmentally-friendly McCall farm in Calverstown is one of the local events scheduled for the Climate Action Weekend organised by the Kildare Public Participation Network, writes Brian Byrne
The weekend starts today,  Friday 9 September and runs through Sunday. The weekend includes online and in-person events covering everything from Health and Climate Action to Energy to Sustainability.
The McCall farm walk is tomorrow Saturday 10 September at 3pm. The enterprise adopts various sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices, including the maintenance of old pastures managed for biodiversity and conservation, hedge planting and an ancient meadow harvested for seeds of native species of flowers and grasses. Pre-registration is essential for the event as spaces are limited.
Other events in the schedule include a Bird Walk and Talk from Naas Library on the effects of climate change on the bird populations, a Climate Action Cafe Discussion, how small actions can go a long way to mitigation of climate change, and a Ladies Clothes Swap.
