Looking Back: Mid-90s reopening of Town Hall

In May of 1994, the Kilcullen Town Hall was reopened after a substantial refurbishment funded largely by local donations, writes Brian Byrne.

And when it came to officially opening the new premises, Kilcullen pulled out all the stops and brought in one of Ireland's best-loved actors to do the honours.

In the Nationalist photo above by Pat Deasy, Joe Lynch unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.
