Talks on saving Kilcullen-Newbridge bus service

Fears that the Kilcullen to Newbridge Town Link Service may be suspended at the end of June were confirmed yesterday, writes Brian Byrne.
Following concerns expressed by regular users, Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer contacted JJ Kavanagh which runs the service, and was told that the National Transport Authority intends to stop supporting the service.
"JJ Kavanagh confirmed that as this service operates at a loss it requires financial support which up to now the NTA have provided," Cllr O'Dwyer says. "According to JJ Kavanagh the NTA plan to cease providing support to this vital service."
Describing the service as an 'essential link' for Kilcullen, the councillor says she will continue to work with JJ Kavanagh and the NTA to resolve the issue.
