Kilcullen fitness club largest in Ironman event

Forty-one members of the No 1 Fitness Club Kilcullen took part in the biggest Ironman 70.3 competition in the world over the past weekend.

They were the largest club contingent among the 3,500 competitors in the competition on Saturday 7 May in Alcudia, Mallorca, Spain, which gave them the right to pole position during transitions. They were also given special grey swim hats for the swimming section.

The competition required participants to swim 1900m in the sea, cycle 90km, and run 21.km.

Most of the No 1 Fitness Kilcullen members are from the Kilcullen area itself, using the club to train and keep fit.
