Fitting end to another tour de force by Kilcullen Drama Group
Well, there were a few Katie Taylor moments onstage in 'The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley', the second half of which the Diary finally got to see last evening for the final performance of the play, writes Brian Byrne. But everything worked out right in the end.
It's in the nature of this work that I don't always get to see the whole show at once, but that didn't inhibit my enjoyment of what has proved to be an outstanding production by the Kilcullen Drama Group.
After a standing ovation from the final full house, director and actor Eilish Phillips was presented with a bouquet (above) by the cast and crew, a fitting end to what has been the longest rehearsal for any play performed by the group.
"We started this eight months ago, not knowing when we'd get a chance to put it on," Eilish recalled, in a mixture of relief and elation before everybody headed for the wrap party and a well-deserved chance to let their hair down.
A selection from our second half pictures are below, but all the Diary's photographs of the play and some of the audiences can be seen here.
