Looking Back: Kilcullen People of the Year 1994

This photo by Oliver McCrossan published in the Kildare Nationalist in September 1994 shows Kilcullen's 'People of the Year' with their awards presented by Kilcullen Community Development, writes Brian Byrne.

They were (back) Paul Aspell, for leadership of the Kilcullen FÁS Scheme; Laura Berney accepting on behalf of her parents Mary and Bernard Berney for their services to the community, particularly the elderly; Eoin Wheeler; John Brady for his work in restoring and preserving New Abbey Graveyard; (front) Liam Sherry on behalf of St Bridget's Pitch & Putt Club; and Noel Clare on behalf of Kilcullen Tidy Towns Committee.
