Kilcullen GAA Lights Up Week 3
Walk on Thursday 10 February with Kilcullen GAA Lights Up for Operation Transformation, writes Liam Cronin.
Registration will begin at 7.45pm and the walk starts at 8pm. There will be 10 spot prizes of Azurri Health Club hats on the night. Please make sure to have your walking gear with bright hi-viz vest/clothing at all times when walking — if you don’t have hi-viz Kilcullen GAA will provide on the night. All are welcome to come to this event, you don’t have to be a Kilcullen GAA club member.
This week we have Sean O’Mahoney from this year's Operation Transformation to lead the Kilcullen GAA Lights Up walk. Sean is a Community Garda in his hometown of Athy, Co Kildare. He lives with his partner Maria and their son Lowry (13). Originally from Limerick, Sean has been a Garda for 22 years.
Working as Garda during covid was difficult for Sean as his job description changed overnight, ranging from getting shopping for older people to collecting prescriptions on a daily basis. As a man in his 40s he is finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with his teenage son, feeling more tired if they are hurling or running together. Please come out and support Sean as our walk leader tomorrow night.
