Ice Age Fairy back for the spring

The Ice Age Fairy in the Valley Park has returned with the advent of spring to its place on the iconic conglomerate rock there, writes Brian Byrne.
The fairy, first placed there in 2019, is so called because the conglomerate rock is believed to be a remnant of the Quaternary Ice Age, which started around 2.6 million years ago and ended just 10,000 years or so ago.
It would have been deposited from the wildly flowing waters of the melting ice in what eventually became today's Valley Park.
The fairies are the work of Ger Doyle, who also refurbished Ice Age. The Fairy Trail was installed as part of the Kilcullen 700 celebrations in 2019.
