Is your school in the Big Travel Challenge?

Schools are being invited to take part in a Big Travel Challenge during the month of February, to promote sustainable transport to school, writes Brian Byrne.

Organised by the Green Schools Travel Team, the initiative asks those taking part to use active ways of going to school for at least ten days in the month. It can be walking, cycling, wheeling or scooting. Participating schools will promote and implement active travel, and submit their programme results to the Green Schools team. The Challenge is open to all schools, big and small, urban and rural, primary and secondary.

Posters, trackers and application form are available from the Big Travel Challenge web page here.

Last year's Travel School of the Year was St Colmcille’s Senior National School, Kells, Co Meath.
