Drama Group back in rehearsals

In another positive sign for 2022, Kilcullen Drama Group restarted rehearsals this evening for their first production since before the beginning of the pandemic, writes Brian Byrne.

The play is The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley, a three-act comedy by Jimmy Keary.

It’s a story about a bachelor whom his ageing mother is anxious to see married before she dies, and Gabriel joins a local drama group in order to try and find a girl friend. He does fall for Hazel, but he’s not her only suitor and during a rehearsal session at Gabriel’s family farm home, things get complicated … and hilarious.

There’s a cast of eight, and the play is being directed by Eilis Phillips. The plan is to stage it in April.
