Casual trading bye-laws proposed for Kilcullen

Bye-laws to designate casual trading areas in Kilcullen and other locations in the county are proposed by Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.

The location in Kilcullen is the Market Square, for which public consultation on its redevelopment under the Part 8 Planning Process is currently due to start next month. The bye-laws are proposed under the Casual Trading Act 1995.

The other locations are Newbridge Linear Park, Newbridge Market Square, Newbridge, Newbridge Edward Street, Rathangan, Monasterevin Main Street, and Kildare Town Market Square.

A copy of the draft Casual Trading Bye-Laws 2022 - Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District may be viewed or inspected during the period from Thursday, 27 January 2022 to Friday 11 March 2022 (both dates inclusive) at local libraries including Kilcullen, or online here. A copy of the draft bye-laws can be purchased from the Corporate Services Department for a fee of €5.

Submissions or observations on the proposed bye-laws may be made online here  or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Services Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare. Please make your submission by one medium only such as online or in hard copy. E-mail or faxed submissions will not be accepted.

Closing date for receipt of submissions and observations is 5pm on Friday 11 March 2022. Any submission received before the closing date will be considered in the making of the bye-laws.
