Christmas opening times for local bars and restaurants
With the new restrictions closing restaurants and bars at 8pm until the end of January, local hostelries have updated their opening times for over the Christmas season, writes Brian Byrne.
O'Connell's Bar is open today, Tuesday 21st, from 12 noon through to Thursday, and from 10.30am on Christmas Eve. From St Stephen's Day and all through to New Year's Day they will open at 12 noon. The Upstairs Lounge is open from 3pm on Thursday and Christmas Eve, from 12 noon on St Stephen's Day and from 3pm on New Year's Eve.
Bardons is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1pm, closing at 7pm on Christmas Eve. They are closed then until Tuesday 28th, opening at 1pm then each day through to New Year's Eve.
As far as we know at the moment, Fallons is opening at normal hours, closing at 8pm. The Spout and McTernans open at the usual times until 8pm, closed Christmas Day. Spout music gigs are from 5-7pm, with Gordon Turner on Thursday 23rd, Shane Coogan on St Stephen's Day, and Colm Cahill on New Year's Day.
The Brown Bear is open today, Tuesday 21st, for Bar service only from 3pm; and from Wednesday through Friday for Lunch from 1pm (Christmas Eve fully booked.)
Dowling's Bar in Ballyshannon is open today, Tuesday 21st, from 1.30pm, from 12 noon on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 11am on Christmas Eve.
The Athgarvan Inn is opening each day at 12.30pm for food and drinks service, closing at 7pm for food, 7.30pm for drinks. Food service on Christmas Eve finishes at 4pm and there is no food on St Stephen's Day.
