Kilcullen improves in Tidy Towns

Kilcullen has gained an extra 11 marks in the 2021 Supervalu Tidy Towns competition compared to the 2019 result, writes Brian Byrne. There was no 2020 competition.

With 324 marks out of a possible 470, the improvements are spread over all eight areas of adjudication. Three received two extra marks — Green Spaces and Landscaping, Nature and Biodiversity, and Approach Roads/Streets/Lanes.

The National winner is Ennis, Co Clare, scoring 355 marks and the town with the highest mark in Kildare is Kill with 347. In Category D where Kilcullen lists, we came third after Kill and Ardclough (329). Other local scores were Calverstown (321) and Brannockstown (279).
