Search begins today at Usk in Deirdre Jacob investigation

Gardai will begin a search of woodlands at Usk Little, south of Kilcullen this morning, as part of their investigations into the separate disappearances of two women more than two decades ago.
Deirdre Jacob disappeared on 28 July 1998 at the age of 18 while walking near her home in Newbridge. Jo Jo Dullard went missing from Moone in 1995.
The search, which is expected to take some weeks, follows the re-interviewing of witnesses and re-examination of evidence, and what gardai call 'credible information' relating to the woods.
The Deirdre Jacobs disappearance was upgraded to a murder investigation three years ago, and the case of Jo Jo Dullard also became a murder investigation earlier this year.
The two are among at least six women who disappeared in the eastern counties of Ireland during the 1990s.
