News from Kilcullen Community Centre

Oil tank area to become flower bed.

Finally, Kilcullen Community Centre will re-open fully on September 20th, writes centre manager Enda O'Neill. Our board, management and staff have been working continually to make sure that the centre and grounds have been kept clean and ready for our re-opening.

A lot of work has gone into that, putting new sanitising dispensers, one-way systems and updating our safety statement to come in line with government regulations. Also, in July of last year, we installed a new accessible toilet and wet room which I cannot wait to see being used fully. Earlier this year we also improved our car-park with a repaired surface and new road markings we also re-surfaced the rear if the centre, making it a safer space for community to walk and park in.

Why not pop into the centre and see our new digital notice board and see if there are any classes being hosted here that might take your fancy as we come into the Autumn and Winter months?

You may have noticed other works on the grounds, a large oil tank has been reported missing, but thankfully it’s not something which will be missed! We are now converting our heating system from oil to wood pellets, a fuel kinder for the environment, with work commencing on the project Monday 6th of September.

Along with help from Kilcullen Tidy Towns and Noel Clare, we will be converting that space where our oil tank was into a new raised flower bed.
