Logstown mast application refused
Kildare County Council has refused planning permission for an 18-metre monopole telecommunications support structure at the Eir exchange at Logstown, writes Brian Byrne.
The application, on behalf of Eircom Limited, was first lodged in December of last year and included the installation of antennas, dishes and associated equipment.
The decision was given on 2 September last. The Planning Authority said the installation 'would seriously injure the visual and residential amenities of properties within the vicinity', and that it wasn't satisfied that exploration of alternative locations had been sufficient to determine that the site is the 'optimum/last resort for the proposed development'.
