A parking and footfall survey of Kilcullen is being requested of Kildare County Council in advance of the preparation of the new Local Area Plan, writes Brian Byrne.
The request is by way of motion from Cllrs Tracey O'Dwyer and Rob Power for the next meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, scheduled for Wednesday 15 September.
The motion says also that the survey would support the village design strategy currently being carried out by Kilcullen Community Action.
At the same meeting, Cllr O'Dwyer is seeking a confirmation of the schedule of the path sweeper in Kilcullen.
Meantime, Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy has a question for the meeting seeking an update on the legal transfer of the land for the bus shelter in Kilcullen, and an approximate timeline on starting of the works.
