Weatherday: Supplies destroyed at Newbridge Station

It will be a warm, dry and humid day. A mix of cloud and sunny spells, the best of the sun in the afternoon.

Temperatures will reach 21deg in light breezes from the west.

On this day in 1921, a raid on Newbridge Railway Station led to the destruction of 41 cases of salmon, 50 sacks of flour, six barrels of oil and one sack of sugar, property of the Navy, Army, Airforce Institute. (Kildare War of Independence Timeline.)
