Weatherday: Comet collision

Borage in the Library Garden.

Warm and dry with varying cloud cover. Spells of sunshine throughout the day.

Light  northerly winds veering westerly and highs of up to 22deg.

On this day in 1908, a huge explosion flattened 2,000 square km of pine forest in Siberia. It is believed the incident was caused by a comet fragment colliding with Earth.
