Tender out for Design Statement

New tender documents for the Kilcullen Design Statement have now been circulated, the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard, writes Brian Byrne.

Ray Kelly recalled how the project had been paused in March following the decision by the previously appointed consultants that they would not be in a position to proceed with the contract.

Noting that it is a 'massive project', Ray outlined the difficulties which covid restrictions had brought, with no face to face meetings possible and impediments to carrying out the initial surveys.

When new consultants are appointed, he said the plan is to 'get out into the community' with workshops and talks on the project. "It's important that we get the views from right across the community," he said. "This is not a KCA project, it's a community one."

The €22,000 initiative is funded by the County Kildare Leader Partnership and LPT funds from Kildare County Council members. The submission deadline is Friday 18th June 2021.
