National Biodiversity Week begins on Saturday
A photography competition is one participation highlight for National Biodiversity Week Ireland 2021 which begins on Saturday, writes Brian Byrne.
Again this year the activities of the week running through 15-23 May will be virtually-based, and there's a Backyard Bioblitz through which ecologists and wildlife experts will be on hand to identify creatures found and photographed in people's local area. There's also a chance to win a prize here.
A family-oriented Biodiversity Scavenger Hunt is also a prize-possible event with an activity sheet available online.
The week is funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
