WEATHER

A cold and cloudy start this morning with a few scattered showers too. Sunny spells will break through later as a fresh northerly breeze takes over, and a few isolated showers follow close behind. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dublin's first set of traffic lights was installed in 1937, at the junction of Clare Street and Merrion Square. By the 1950s there were 48 junctions in the city centre controlled by lights. Today there are around 1,000 sets, with about 850 of them part of a smart traffic control system.
