Get the pencils out for National Drawing Day

Today is National Drawing Day, and to celebrate Ireland's National Gallery has an online event encouraging people to participate, writes Brian Byrne.

With updates through the day on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the #NationalDrawingDay tag, the free event runs from 11am-4pm.

There are details and tutorials and other resources on the Gallery's web page here. 

Everyone can take part. All it takes is a pencil and some drawing paper. Great for the kids between the showers, or out in the garden in the sunny spells.
