Traffic lights being upgraded today - UPDATE: NO FILTER

After campaigning that has been going on since 2006, Kilcullen's traffic lights are at last being replaced, writes Brian Byrne.

The lack of a filter for traffic turning right coming from the south at the crossroads has been a safety issue over all those years, and the Diary has reported many times on it, and on efforts by public representatives to have the situation resolved.

This morning, without any notice, all the signals are in the process of being replaced. 

HOWEVER, WE HAVE JUST LEARNED THAT THERE'S NO FILTER BEING ADDED. IT'S JUST CHANGING THE TUNGSTEN LAMPS TO LEDS.
