World Book Day: Five for Children

Today is World Book Day, and Kildare Libraries have selected five children's books to celebrate the event, writes Brian Byrne.

They are Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first in the famous series from JK Rowling; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, a perennial favourite; Tom Gates is Absolutely Fantastic (At Some Things) from Liz Pichon, about a class Activity Break with all sorts of possibilities; Judy Curtin's Lily Steps Up, set in Lissadell House in Sligo; and the time-travelling Code Name Bananas by David Walliams.
