New book for children for launch next week

A Zoom launch of a new book for children aged 10 upwards will take place on Saturday 27 March, with Woodbine Books as part of the A Tale of Three Indies group, writes Brian Byrne.

The Kidds of Summerhill by Ann Murtagh is about a young girl determined to keep her family together after their mother dies. Follow her story as she protects them from the 'Cruelty Men' who want to put the children into an industrial school.

The author will read from the book and there will be questions and answers afterwards. The event is at 4pm, and participation is free through reservation at Eventbrite. 

A Tale of Three Indies was formed by three independent bookshops (Antonia's Bookstore in Trim, The Maynooth Bookshop & Woodbine Books) who wanted to continue bringing events directly to their customers, but because of Covid restrictions couldn't have live events in store - hence A Tale of Three Indies online events was born!
