Gardener, hold that mower!

On the week when traditionally many gardens get their first cut of the year to tidy up for St Patrick's Day, householders are being asked not to be too hasty with the lawnmower.

Kilcullen Community 4 Climate Action says the bees are hungry after winter hibernation, and need the food available to them in longer grass.

That especially includes the dandelions which will be appearing soon. To bees they're not weeds, but food, even superfood.

Wait until mid-April, we're told.
