Scammers still busy ...

It remains scam time, people, so be aware.

One Diary reader received a text message yesterday purporting to be from 'EireVerify', saying 'we are holding your package'. Before clicking on the link, she checked, and ... surprise ... found it a recognised scam.

Also those phone scams were busy over the weekend ... another family got two, but didn't answer because they were not recognised. Turned out on investigation that the prefix number that looked like it came from Tuam was a digit different, and actually from Pakistan. Another later in the day to a different phone was coming from Tunisia.

It's not in our nature to be suspicious all the time, but the reality is that we almost have to be.
