WEATHER

Mostly dry at first today with spells of sunshine. Patchy cloud will build this afternoon with scattered showers spreading from the northwest. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh northwest winds.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dublin's first set of traffic lights was installed in 1937, at the junction of Clare Street and Merrion Square. By the 1950s there were 48 junctions in the city centre controlled by lights. Today there are around 1,000 sets, with about 850 of them part of a smart traffic control system.
