Planning changes granted to Tennis Club

An interesting condition and a sign of the times which applies to a grant of planning permission to Kilcullen Lawn Tennis Club is that a 'sheltered and lit bay' shall be provided for 12 bicycles, writes Brian Byrne.

That is something we're going to see a lot of in planning contexts, as an effort to promote sustainable mobility.

Meanwhile, the granting of the application (ref 20645) means that the Club can carry out modifications and alterations to previously granted planning permission, including the removal of the proposed Court No 4 and provision of a Croquet lawn area and additional parking in lieu.

The permission also allows the deletion of the flood lighting system as proposed, and the provision of flood lights to existing tennis Courts No 1 and No 2, only, to a maximum height of six metres.

The Club will also be making changes to the entrance to make it safer for both motorists and pedestrians, and there are revisions to the proposed ramp, alterations to internal fencing and the erection of a new boundary fence along part of the western boundary.

The decision to grant permission was made on 18 November 2020.
