Even closed, An Tearmann cheers
We just noticed this week that the An Tearmann lettering over the currently closed cafe has been refurbished and replaced, writes Brian Byrne.
That will be a relief for those of us who feared that a permanent closure might be on the cards when the letters were taken down a while ago.
The closing of the most popular cafe was part of the Bridge Camphill Community's strategy to minimise the chance of Covid-19 amongst its residents and staff. The return of the sign means there's still hope for its reopening in a more benign future.
Meanwhile, the An Tearmann windows are showing its Halloween face this week as we wend our way towards that next festival time. It helps to cheer us all, even if Halloween itself is likely to be an isolated affair for all.
Love the hearts!
