Deer warning signs on the way
Signs are to be placed at a recognised deer crossing area on the road to Naas between Silliot Hill and Two Mile House, writes Brian Byrne.
Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer has received confirmation from Kildare County Council officials that signs have been ordered and will be erected when they arrive.
The danger had been brought to her attention by local resident Paul Leighton following reports of a number of incidents involving deer and motorists. Then a couple of days ago he sent in the photograph above of the tragic result of the most recent one.
Warnings have been issued by gardai and the Irish Deer Council that the mating season which lasts through some eight weeks is a particularly dangerous time.
