Amazon Academy free event for small businesses and entrepreneurs

The first ever Amazon Academy Ireland event in a few weeks is designed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs grow their revenue, enhance productivity and develop digital skills, writes Brian Byrne.

Taking place on Friday 6 November, the free event requires registration on Eventbrite, and is supported by Local Enterprise Offices, Enterprise Ireland, the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland, and Enterprise Nation. 

Participants will hear from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs and Amazon experts on how to increase and improve online presence and reach new customers around the world. Alison Cowzer of East Coast Bakehouse, and a member of the team on the last two seasons of RTE's Dragon's Den will be one of the keynote speakers, along with Danny O’Gorman, Head of New Seller Partnerships at Amazon. Two successful entrepreneurs selling both online and offline will be featured in a discussion.

There will also be a selection of independent experts who can advise on the broader issues facing Irish businesses today. These will include Joyce Rigby-Jones, Joint Managing Director of Voltedge Management Ltd and Honorary Chair of CIPD Ireland; Patricia McGovern, Partner, DFMG Solicitors LLP; and Ross O’Colmain, Department Manager for Consumer Products, Enterprise Ireland.
