The Spout opens a virtual Jimmy Aspell fundraiser for cancer support

The late Jimmy Aspell and Brush Shiels rock it out in 2017.
Though unable to open the pub at the moment, Tommy Dignam of The Spout is asking for support to keep the pub's annual fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society going, writes Brian Byrne.

The event has been a September feature for the last nine years, and was started by the late Jimmy Aspell.

"I promised to keep our fundraiser going annually, and we feel it’s only right to try and do something this year even though we currently cannot trade," Tommy says in a Facebook post.

He's asking people who participated in previous years to share their photos or videos of any of the nights out in The Spout in the comments section of the top post on The Spout's Facebook Page and make a donation to The Irish Cancer Society in the link.

"If any musicians would like to post a video of a tune it would be great," he adds. "Share this post amongst your friends and get donating."
