Swan family doing fine

We have been wondering lately about how Sean and Siobhan Swan have been getting on with their cygnets?

Well, this photo from Tommy Bardon shows that the six young ones have survived through to being almost ready to mind themselves.

Great to see, especially having seen the recent video shot by Gareth Landy of a mink mooching around on the Canoe Club slipway … vicious little critturs, they take a hard toll on river bird life.

UPDATE: There has been a closer look at Gareth's video, and it seems that what he filmed was in fact an otter. Doesn't negate my comments about the mink being vicious, though ...
