Looking forward to Culture Night 18 September
Ballymore Eustace Concert Band in pre-Covid mode. |
But among the live events on Friday 18 September worth heading for is an Open Air Concert by the Ballymore Eustace Concert Band, which will take place from 7.30pm-8.30pm.
The performance will be in The Square, allowing musicians and audience to safely enjoy a live performance. There will be jazz, classical and pop in the hour, and attendance is free.
For those interested in old photographs of a village area, the Tanyard in Ballitore is hosting an exhibition of such. They will be shown as a slide show in the old building, and cafe facilities will be available. The organisers also plan to present the show on its Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/thetanyardballitore
In Newbridge, the Kildare Youth Theatre is putting on a series ‘ Bench Plays in the Liffey Linear Park. The short performances, beginning at 7pm, will showcase the work produced by the group during a five-week programme.
An unusual evening is promised in Monasterevin in a Community Painting Project with artist Paul Woods. Individuals or families can book a 15-minute slot from 4pm with the artist to help produce a community painting. The piece will be produced by the different visitors adding to the process, and a slideshow of the event will be broadcast at the end of the evening. 045 529857 or visit www.paulwoodsart to book a slot.
There’s lots more going on, and we’ll update these on the Diary as we move closer to the evening.
Meantime you can check out the Kildare programme for yourself here.
